Job description

The candidate will be required to work within the distribution team of Aeon Investment Management with responsibilities relating to client service (institutional and retail). The ideal candidate will be expected to take full responsibility for work assigned and relish the prospect of gaining broad exposure to the investment management industry. The team expects the candidate to be a team player, yet an independent intellectual committed to working with integrity and honesty.

The role requires a candidate who is willing to work outside of their KPAs where required. Job specifications

Primary role: Full supervision of client service management.

The successful candidate will be working in a team alongside the current Client Associate and will be reporting to the Head of Distribution.
This will incorporate the responsibility for the preparation and assistance of administrative requirements including but not limited to the following:

Client Service Management

  • Assume responsibility for institutional and retail clients and ensure all client and internal queries are identified and actioned accordingly, per SLAs.
  • Facilitate client engagements, report submissions, due diligence questionnaires, and other pertinent correspondence and requests. Manage and oversee client communication pertaining to contacting clients telephonically, written communication, or in person meetings to ensure the client service levels are conducted in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Provide clients with customised reporting where required.
  • Present to existing clients on business and investment-related matters.
  • Build strong client relationships at appropriate levels to ensure effective high level client fulfillment and service.
  • Assure timely communication of relevant information with operations and investment teams and offer assistance where collaboration is required.
  • Manage ad-hoc team projects, including periodic mandate investigations, checks and internal reviews.

 

Business Development Coordination

  • Handle client inquiries promptly and professionally. Act as team representative on certain company-wide projects.
  • Client take-ons and transitions including the composition and effecting Investment Management Agreements and mandates, adhering to internal approval protocols with required stakeholders’.
  • Thoroughly examine and ensure the quality of submissions for tenders and due diligence questionnaires’.
  • Where required, attend key industry events and prospective client meetings and invitations.
  • Conduct industry research related to Distribution and industry trends.

 

Process & Procedural Management

  • Maintain client database to strict minimum standards, capture and store client documents correctly.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution team to develop and implement business development strategies, including marketing initiatives and client events.
  • Lead Liaison with various stakeholders when opening Local and Global Multi-asset accounts including but not limited to cash and custody accounts, securities accounts. Ensuring accurate and timely processing of account openings, closures, and modifications.
  • Lead and coordinate scrip lending with the relevant parties and dealing and implementation desk to ensure accuracy of recorded data against relevant portfolios.
  • Create and update client reports that could encompass competitor details, pinpointing jeopardised mandates, or highlighting new business prospects.

Ideal candidate

Qualifications: Commerce or finance related qualification – B Comm, B Bus Sci, Economics.

Preferred experience and requirements

Experience: Minimum three years working experience in investment management, client relationship management, or a related field. With a keen interest for investments markets and client service process management.

Systems skills required:

  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Moderately Proficient in Excel
  • RE 5 – Representative (beneficial, but not imperative at appointment)
